Harold Hawthorne Village has a philosophy of providing not just a place to live, but a lifestyle. We provide affordable housing for over 55's in a quality, comfortable atmosphere.

The relaxing, peaceful atmosphere ensures that our residents enjoy a secure and peaceful lifestyle, with all conveniences and amenities close at hand.

Introduction

Harold Hawthorne Senior Citizens Centre and Homes Inc exists as a Not for Profit organization. The Board of Management is a voluntary Board whose prime concern is the well being of the Residents. Any surplus in income, derived from the fortnightly maintenance fees and any capital income, is applied to improving both the facilities and services provided at the Village.

The concerns and input of the Residents is always welcomed and facilitated through various methods, guaranteeing that the voice of individual residents or the collective is heard.

The Units

The Village has a total of 41 Independent Living Units in either One or Two bedroom designs. Residents purchase a “Life Lease” to reside in their chosen unit. This is the most common form of residency in Retirement Villages in Australia.

No deed of title changes hands except a Lease contract for life. Upon departing the unit, the lease is sold for fair market value and a portion is retained by the Association to facilitate further development of the Village and its facilities.

No legal fees are charged in respect of the purchase or sale of the Lease, however, a one off, non-refundable application fee is levied at application.

The Lifestyle

Payment of a fortnightly Maintenance Fee based on the yearly budget covers the cost of rates, maintenance of all community facilities, grounds and lawn maintenance and mowing and security.

This all adds up to time … time to enjoy family, friends and life. Time to participate in your favourite hobbies or pastimes, or get involved in various lifestyle activities in the community … it all adds up to a lifestyle that is geared to relaxation and enjoyment.
